CRESTVIEW — Micheal Brooks is Crestview High School’s reigning Top Dog.
CHS’s Juniorettes presented the superhero-themed Top Dog competition, where he earned that honor, March 11 on campus.
Top Dog Superhero contestants — including Nolan Arenz, senior; Trenton Moran, senior; Corey Del Valle, senior; Jalen Jones, senior; Brooks, senior; and Edward Schackleford, junior — rapped, danced and did everything they could to make the crowd laugh and support their performances.
In addition, each contestant had to use their best pick-up line to win a sweetheart, whom CHS teacher Ericka Kennedy portrayed.
CHS teacher Andrew Black acted as the Master of Ceremonies and provided commentary throughout the contest.
CHS teachers Jessica Rodrigues, Leah Merritt and Alex Andrews judged the event.
Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, which is 7 p.m. April 22 to 7 a.m. April 23 at CHS.
North Okaloosa County residents will walk the track for 12 hours to reflect on a cancer patient's longest night: when he or she receives the diagnosis.
