NEW YORK — A Crestview High School student has a $1,000 scholarship to Paul Smith's College after participating in the Presidential Scholarship competition on campus.
Jason Heiserman was one of 69 competitors at the Feb. 27 event.
Contestants participated in a group challenge as part of the competition. They created a short story and acted out a play based on a list of words and pictures they were given. They also participated in a one-on-one interview with a college representative and wrote an essay.
Scholarship awards ranged between $1,000 and full tuition. Recipients who choose to attend Paul Smith's are eligible to receive the scholarships annually for as long as they are enrolled.
