CRESTVIEW — A standing ovation greeted Crestview Community Policing Officer Wanda Hulion at City Hall March 28 when Mayor David Cadle presented her with a 10-year service certificate.
The ovation wasn’t as much for her longevity as her accomplishments. Among those standing and applauding were members of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
“These people are more active than any other alumni association I’ve ever seen,” Crestview Police Chief Tony Taylor said. “She is now developing an advanced class for the alumni association.”
Hulion has helped organize and instruct the annual academy since its origination four years ago.
“I cannot tell you how many great comments I get about you,” Cadle told Hulion. “And I appreciate those comments very much.”
“She represents us well,” Taylor said. “…She’s always there when you need her.”
