CRESTVIEW — A red Jeep temporarily blocked the Interstate 10 westbound entrance ramp Thursday morning when it flipped over in the rain around 9:15.
“She came around maybe a little fast and flipped over,” Crestview Police Cmdr. Jamie Grant said.
The vehicle came to rest on its driver’s side in the grassy area on the north side of the entrance ramp, facing the direction it had come.
Crestview Police and Fire Department units responded to the scene, and had to use stabilization poles to keep the Jeep upright while cutting its canvas roof open to free the driver.
“There were very minor injuries,” police spokesman Cmdr. Andrew Schneider said. “She just negotiated the corner a bit too fast.”
Schneider said Okaloosa EMS transported the driver to North Okaloosa Medical Center for treatment.
They ramp was opened by 10 a.m. after a wrecker removed the Jeep from the side of the ramp.
