The Crestview Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the McClelland Street area.
Officers initially responded to the area of McClelland Street shortly after midnight, for reports of multiple shots being fired.
When officers arrived on scene, several people reported hearing gunshots in the area but they were unable to locate anyone in the area at the time of the incident.
Officers spoke with several people in the area and were unable to narrow down the exact location in the neighborhood where the actual shooting occurred.
All involved parties were believed to have departed the area before the arrival of Law Enforcement.
A heightened patrol was conducted in the area for the remained of the night without further incident.
Shortly after 7 a.m. the Crestview Police Department received notification from the Andalusia Police Department, that a person injured in a shooting incident had been admitted to a hospital in that area with non-life-threatening injuries.
It was determined that the person who had been shot, was injured during the shooting incident in Crestview earlier this morning and they then drove to a hospital in the Andalusia area for treatment.
Investigators are working in conjunction with the Andalusia Police Department in conducting interviews with the injured person in Andalusia and canvassing the neighborhood for possible evidence. Investigators are also attempting to determine any other parties that may have been involved in or witnesses of the incident.
At this time this is considered an ongoing investigation as information regarding the incident is being gathered.
Information in the case remains limited at this time and additional information will be provided in an additional release as the investigation continues or concludes.
