2 Crestview residents charged with child neglect, drug possession

CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department executed a search warrant at 557 Purl Adams Ave., shortly before 5 p.m. May 5 in reference to narcotics.

CPD’s Criminal Investigations Division and the Crestview SWAT team executed the search warrant. During the search, numerous illegal drugs and paraphernalia were seized from the residence.

The Crestview Police Department arrested and charged 34-year-old, Wendell Joseph Wright and 33-year-old Jessica Lane Smith of Crestview.

Wright was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance (valium), possession of a new legend drug, child neglect without great bodily harm, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony violation of probation.

Smith was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance (valium), possession of a new legend drug, and child neglect  without great bodily harm.

Wright and Smith were delivered into the custody of the Okaloosa County Department of Corrections without incident.
