CRESTVIEW — A Baker woman accused of child neglect is set for trial on June 13.
April Lynn Williams, 35, of Ellis Road, was arrested April 1 on a charge of child neglect without great bodily harm.
During an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office investigation into a sexual abuse case, a 10-year-old stated Williams "told her to recant her statement in court telling her 'She was tired of him (the man accused of sexual abuse) not being (redacted) just because of me, because I ruined his life,” an OCSO arrest report states. “She told me to say in court that I was lying, but I put my hand on the Bible and I promised that I wouldn't tell a lie, but I did. She threatened to send me to a group home if I said that he did it again.'"
Tennessee resident Kenneth Marion Webster was to have no contact with the victim after an organization in that state substantiated her charge of Webster’s sexual abuse, according to the OCSO.
"The defendant April Williams violated this order by allowing Webster to have access to victim,” the arrest report stated.
Williams pled not guilty May 4. Her trial date is June 13.
