Crestview woman critically injured in Okaloosa traffic accident (FILE)

CRESTVIEW — A local woman is in critical condition after a 6 p.m. June 8 crash on Interstate 10.

Carly Beresky, 33, of Crestview, was traveling eastbound in the right lane of State Road 8.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol media release, Beresky was approaching a second vehicle with Christopher J. Zainey, driver, 33, and passenger Casey D. Dietz, 32, both of New Orleans.

"As (Beresky) was approaching (Zainey) from the rear, (her vehicle) failed to stop, thus causing the front of (Beresky's vehicle) to strike the rear of (Zainey's vehicle)," an FHP media release states.

The 2007 Ford Focus, traveling off the roadway onto the south shoulder, and overturned several times before coming to final rest facing north, according to FHP, which said Zainey and Dietz weren't injured in the wreck.

Damage to Beresky's Focus, totals $15,000. Damage to Zainey's vehicle, a 2010 Lexus E35, is $2,000.
