FORT WALTON BEACH — The Society for Human Resource Management's next seminar is "The Balancing Act of Employer Responsibility — Litigation Risk at Each Phase of the Employee Life Cycle."
The event starts with registration and a continental breakfast, 7:45 a.m. Sept. 21 at the CareerSource Conference Room, 409 Racetrack Road NE. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.
Cost is $40 for SHRM Emerald Coast chapter members and $50 for nonmembers. Preregister by Sept. 19 at http://bit.ly/2bLGV28.
Joyce Chastain — Human Resources Florida State Council member since 2007, and its immediate past president — is the guest speaker.
Attendees will learn to identify various points of the employee life cycle and the litigation risk associated; recognize employee “tells” that could result in litigation if not amended; self-audit processes and practices for exposure; and learn to create and maintain an organization where risk is negligible.
