CRESTVIEW — A tip to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers helped end nearly a year on the lam by a man wanted in an Aug. 9, 2015 fatal shooting at the New Green Frog on Okaloosa Island.
In September 2015, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office issued a murder warrant for former Crestview resident Jordan Christopher Reeves in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Timothy Stocker Junior of Fort Walton Beach.
OCSO investigators said a combination of eyewitness testimony and interviews, along with physical evidence, led to the warrant, but Reeves fled the scene after the shooting and disappeared.
On Sept. 9, Reeves was arrested on unrelated misdemeanor charges in Buffalo, New York under a different name. He was set to be released but a tip to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers revealed that his true identity was 24-year-old Christopher Reeves, wanted by the OCSO on a first-degree murder charge.
Investigators said Reeves shot Stocker multiple times around 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the New Green Frog following a brief dispute. Stocker collapsed near the back of the business and later died.
Two OCSO investigators are in Buffalo to pursue additional leads in the case.
Reeves is also accused of attempted murder in Orange County, Florida.
