CRESTVIEW —The Foundation of the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce Inc., which recently achieved 501(c)(3) exemption status as a public charity, has set its first project: funding its new Foundation of the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce Vocational/Technical Scholarship.
The scholarship will provide up to $1,000 each to a Crestview High, Laurel Hill or Baker School senior pursuing a vocational or technical post-secondary education. Fundraising will begin Nov. 1.
The foundation, a nonprofit organization, also accepts donations on behalf of the Sister City Organization, as it establishes a scholarship to help qualified students travel to Crestview's French Sister City, Noirmoutier.
Donations designated for the Sister City scholarship — or after Nov. 1 for the vocational-technical scholarship — may be sent to Foundation CACC, Post Office Box 514, Crestview, FL 32536-0514.
