PENSACOLA— A Milton man faces 15½ years in prison for receipt and transportation of child pornography, and making a false statement to a federal agent.
Andre M. Straughn, 40, also will serve 10 years of supervised release after prison and must register as a sex offender, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
In July 2015, law enforcement agents became aware of online child pornography files allegedly linked to Straughn’s online activities.
They investigated and determined that he was a truck driver who traveled to other states with his cellular device and laptop computer. He used multiple electronic platforms to engage in online child pornography, according to news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
After Straughn returned home from a trip, agents searched his home. He told them he did not have an online storage account, did not use the social media application Kik and could not remember the password to his cellular telephone.
However, a forensic review of Straughn’s electronic devices revealed that he did maintain online storage accounts and a Kik account, according to the news release.
In total, Straughn’s online storage account, laptop and other devices revealed more than 50,000 images and videos of child pornography dating back about 10 years.
He pleaded guilty June 2.
