CHELCO releases 75th anniversary history booklet

CRESTVIEW — A written history of CHELCO’s first 75 years is now available at the utility cooperative’s six area offices. Members may pick up a copy at no charge.

CHELCO’s area offices include:

  • Auburn: 3097 Locke Lane in Crestview
  • Baker: 1351 Georgia Ave.
  • Bluewater Bay: 1401 Cat Mar Road in Niceville
  • DeFuniak Springs: 1350 W. Baldwin Ave.
  • Freeport: 112 Highway 20
  • Santa Rosa Beach: 3906 Highway 98 W.

The history booklet is also available at www.chelco.com. (Click “About Us,” then “History.”)

“We are proud of our history and excited to be able to share it in this format with the community and members,” CEO Steve Rhodes said. “Looking ahead to the next 75 years, staying true to our founders’ vision of seeking first to serve our members will be our inspiration.”

CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric cooperative serving more than 49,000 accounts in Walton, Okaloosa, Holmes and Santa Rosa counties.
