PENSACOLA — Are you a Northwest Florida student headed for college and wondering how you'll afford to pay for it?

The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association-Pensacola Charitable Foundation Inc. has annually awarded scholarships to Northwest Florida applicants since 2010. These are open to Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa County students in all fields.

Scholarships — available to those entering or already attending a college or university during 2017 — are awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular participation, part-time/community work, essay preparation, recommendations and financial need.

This year's awards — totaling $2,500 — will help with book and lab fee expenses. April 18 is the application deadline. Past winners may reapply.

Applicants can download the 2017 scholarship application at http://www.AHEPA296.com/APCFI-scholarships. Contact George B. Dodge Sr., AHEPA-Pensacola Charitable Foundation president, at 473-0108 for additional information.
