CRESTVIEW — Two workshops are scheduled to assist Okaloosa high school students taking the April 8 ACT and May 6 SAT.
The first workshop is 2-5 p.m. April 3, 4, 10 and 11 at the Fort Walton Beach High School Media Center, 400 Hollywood Blvd. SW.
The second one is 2-5 p.m. April 5, 6, 12 and 13 at the Niceville High School Media Center, 800 E. John Sims Parkway.
Students must bring calculators. All materials, snacks and drinks are furnished.
Registrations must be postmarked by March 21. Area high schools have registration forms.

Supervisors of Elections scholarships available
CRESTVIEW — The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections will award three $1,200 scholarships at its summer conference. One nominee from Okaloosa County will be selected and forwarded to the FSASE Scholarship Committee to compete on the state level.
Applicants must be a political science/public or business administration or journalism/mass communication major who has, or will have, completed two years of college and be enrolled or accepted as a full-time student in a senior college or university in Florida.
Applicants must also have been bona fide residents of Florida for two years and be registered to vote.

College scholarship open to NWF students
PENSACOLA — Are you a Northwest Florida student headed for college and wondering how you'll afford to pay for it?
The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association-Pensacola Charitable Foundation Inc. has annually awarded scholarships to Northwest Florida applicants since 2010. These are open to Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa County students in all fields.
Scholarships — available to those entering or already attending a college or university during 2017 — are awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular participation, part-time/community work, essay preparation, recommendations and financial need.
This year's awards — totaling $2,500 — will help with book and lab fee expenses. April 18 is the application deadline. Past winners may reapply.
