CRESTVIEW — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to Adora Teal Way, west of Bob Sikes Airport, at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

The response was made after a call was placed to a suicide prevention hotline, according to an OCSO spokesperson. The department responded to the scene with medical personnel and an individual was found in a vehicle in the surrounding woods.

Deputies closed a portion of the road in both directions near the site. They have been in contact with the individual intermittently throughout the day, the spokesperson said.

Information is limited at this time as OCSO works to peacefully end the situation.

Drivers in the area can use John Givens Road as a route alternative during the closure.
