CRESTVIEW—Calandra Stallworth had the habit of talking to friends and family members every day. Those conversations stopped near the end of March and she was reported missing to the Crestview Police Department.
On March 27, Stallworth informed the police department she wasn’t missing. She told the CPD she was in Alabama with her boyfriend, Antwon Smith, for a getaway and had poor cell phone signal.
“We had no idea that she had said she wasn’t missing,” Jessica Stewart, Stallworth’s cousin, said. “Family members didn’t talk to her. I don’t know if she even went up there or what happened.”
Stallworth never contacted family members to tell them she was in Alabama and wasn’t missing, according to Stewart.
“None of it sounds right,” Stewart added.
Stallworth’s car was spotted in Destin on April 2, but it was being driven by Smith. Taleah Durm was in the vehicle with Smith. Durm was believed to be missing at the time as well.
Smith was arrested at the scene for cocaine possession, marijuana possession and driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to Okaloosa County Clerk of Courts records.
Stallworth wasn’t in her vehicle that night.
“He had her car without her in it—something’s not right there,” Stewart continued. “[Stallworth]’s not the kind of person to just disappear like this. She has children at home and talks to her mom or somebody in the family almost every day.”
Stallworth is a mother of two daughters. Her mother wished not to speak to the Bulletin, according to Stewart.
Nearly a month after her disappearance, contact with Stallworth has not been made. Friends and family members have taken to social media in the hopes of learning more information on her whereabouts.
"As of now, we have a wealth of information that has been received," CPD spokesman Brian Hughes said. "The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is helping us analyze it."
More information was not available due to an active investigation, according to Hughes.
