CRESTVIEW — A Crestview man is in critical condition today after being stabbed in the buttocks outside Robert’s Mobile Home Park on East James Lee Boulevard.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Crestview resident Demone Blackman, 42, in connection with the stabbing, which took place around 10 p.m. April 24.
Blackman is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
The OCSO media release states the victim, 42-year-old Roger Zeis, says he went to the trailer park to speak to someone about a job. "He says he was met at the residence by Blackman, who said the person he was looking for was not home. Zeis says as he was leaving, he yelled out to a friend, but Blackman came out and asked if he was talking to him and if he had a problem. He says Blackman came down a ramp and hit him in the mouth, dislodging four front teeth, then stabbed him in the buttocks with an unknown object," according to the media release.
Zeis went home but later went to the hospital, where it was learned the stab wound was so deep it had perforated his bowel. He is listed in critical condition at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Deputies say when arrested, Blackman had blood on his left hand and a swollen right hand with an abrasion and blood on his knuckles.
