Crestview motorcycle driver in critical condition

CRESTVIEW — A Crestview man is in critical condition following a Sunday evening traffic accident.

James Robert Caine Jr., 56, of Crestview was driving a 2003 custom ASPT motorcycle west on County Road 188 (Airport Road), according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

The vehicle was traveling too fast for the road’s curvature and, as a result, it left the roadway and traveled onto the north shoulder, where it began to overturn, according to the release.

The chopper continued overturning and traversed both lanes of travel on Buckhorn Drive before coming to final rest on the ditch on the north shoulder, with the vehicle landing on top of Caine, according to the FHP.

Alcohol was not involved; charges include failing to use due care and operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle license, according to the release.
