Drivers will encounter traffic variations on the following state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Okaloosa County
- State Road 145 (Perry Avenue) resurfacing from U.S. Highway 98 to Eglin Parkway — intermittent lane closures between Eglin Parkway and Miracle Strip Parkway from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through Sunday, July 16 as crews mill and resurface the roadway.
- S.R. 189 (Beal Parkway) intersection improvements at S.R. 393 (Mary Esther Boulevard) — intermittent lane restrictions at Mary Esther Boulevard from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through Thursday, July 13 as crews perform clearing operations on the work site.
- Interstate 10 resurfacing from east of County Road 189 (Holt/ Exit 45) to west of Yellow River — intermittent east and westbound lane restrictions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday, July 13 as crews mill and pave eastbound and westbound roadway shoulders and other construction activities.
- U.S. 90 utility work between Lloyd Street and Linberg Street — The eastbound, outside lane will be closed between Lloyd Street and Linberg Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 10 through Thursday, July 13 and Monday, July 17 through Thursday, July 20 as crews replace existing power poles and energized conductors.
- U.S. 98 maintenance and repair of underground storm water drainage, from Gulf Shore Drive to Airport Road in Destin — Intermittent westbound lane restrictions from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews clean and seal pipe joints along the trunk line, adjacent manhole, and curb inlet structures. The project is anticipated to be complete summer 2017.
- S.R. 123 widening, north of Toms Creek to north of Turkey Creek — Intermittent northbound lane closures, through Friday, July 14 as crews perform paving operations.
- U.S. 98 utility work in Destin — A portion of the eastbound, right turn lane to Scenic Highway will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 12 as crews perform utility work. Drivers are reminded to use caution.
Walton County
- U.S. 98 widening from Emerald Bay Drive to Tang-O-Mar Drive — Alternating east and westbound lane closures from east of Geronimo Street to the Okaloosa/Walton County line from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through Thursday, July 13 as crews continue drainage improvements and roadway widening work.
- U.S. 331 multilane from north of S.R. 20 to I-10 — Traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed roadway around 7 p.m. Sunday, July 16 as crews begin reconstruction of the existing lanes between Healthmark Regional Medical Center and Edgewood Circle. This new traffic pattern will be in place for several months.
