Woman still missing after 4 months

CRESTVIEW — Calandra Stallworth, 29, went missing in late March, and police say they still have nothing to go on.

Stallworth, a mother of two, allegedly appeared at the Crestview Police Department on March 27 to say she was not missing before she disappeared again shortly thereafter.

Within days, Stallworth's boyfriend, Antwon Smith, was arrested after he was pulled over while driving her car in Destin. 

Smith, who was with another woman when he was pulled over, was arrested for possession of marijuana and cocaine and for driving with a suspended or revoked license. Smith also had Stallworth’s cellphone. 

Police said they did not get a confession from Smith or discover evidence of foul play, and there are no new leads in the now four-month-old case.

But that hasn’t quelled local residents' concerns. Laura Hudson, for one, is still asking police and the media for answers.

“Is there anything else that we can do for Calandra Stallworth?” Hudson said in a message to the News Bulletin. “She is still missing and still no answers. I asked the CPD to (show us) the video footage of her supposedly walking in the police station and saying that she's not missing. Still no answer from them. We really need your help and really need answers and quick. (Calandra's) daughters are just lost.” 

Brian Hughes, the public information officer for the Crestview Police Department, said even if there is security camera footage, it cannot be released because the investigation into Stallworth’s disappearance is ongoing. 

“We have security cameras around the Police Department," Hughes said, "and when (Stallworth) came in she may have been picked up on the security camera, but because it is an active investigation we wouldn’t even be releasing that footage.”
