NICEVILLE — Northwest Florida State College has selected Dr. Scott Behrens as the college’s new Vice President for Teaching and Learning.
“Not only is Dr. Behrens’ commitment to academic excellence notable, but his breadth of experience and demonstrated successes in various leadership roles in academic administration make him an authentic fit for NWF State College,” said Dr. Devin Stephenson, president. “We look forward to welcoming our new colleague to the Northwest Florida State College team and to continuing our quest to be the best.”
The Vice President for Teaching and Learning serves as the chief academic and articulation officer of the college.
Behrens is currently the Dean of Associate in Arts Programs at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, a position he has held since 2012. Previously, he was employed at South University in Novi, Michigan, where he served as the Dean of Academic Affairs and Operations.
Behrens received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Florida; his Master of Arts in Human Development/Educational Psychology from the University of Arizona; and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Maryland College.
His official start date is Jan. 3, 2018.
