CRESTVIEW — Two local residents face charges after an eyewitness and video footage led to them as suspects.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office charged Jamel Lee Coleman, 22, and Keyshan Christian McClearn, 20, with robbery with a firearm March 9.

McClearn faces an additional charge of felony violation of probation on an original charge of credit card fraud.

Deputies responded to a robbery-in-progress call near midnight March 8 at the Tom Thumb store at the intersection of State Road 85 and P.J. Adams Parkway in south Crestview.

According to an OCSO media release, the two robbed the store at gunpoint and fled with a small amount of cash.

"An EMS ambulance crew was in the parking lot during the robbery. A crewmember was able to provide a description of a possible suspect vehicle seen at the store," the release stated.

Deputies issued a "be on the look out" advisory for the suspects' vehicle, which a Crestview Police Department officer saw at Aplin Apartments with two men present, the release stated.

"Evidence visible in the video footage of the robbery at the store was in plain view inside the car.

"Deputies also found a fully loaded firearm next to the rear left tire," the release stated.

"Well done to all involved in helping get two dangerous individuals off the streets quickly," said OCSO Sheriff Larry Ashley. "These results were a combination of strong witness information and excellent law enforcement teamwork."
