Local National Day Prayer observance set
The 2018 National Day of Prayer observance is 12:30 p.m. May 3 at Warrior's Hall, 201 Stilwell Blvd., Crestview. The Crestview Area Ministerial Association event theme is "Pray for America – Unity."
It includes a brief message, a time of prayer for the U.S., government, media, military, businesses, churches, and families, and a closing congregational hymn.
Church sets community yard sale
The Summit Church will have a community-wide yard sale 7 a.m. May 5 at 100 Duggan Ave., Crestview. Free coffee will be served at the event, which will feature home appliances and other items, including clothing, toys, furniture and electronics.
Baker concert to feature former Oak Ridge Boys drummer
Chris Golden will minister in gospel music at 10:45 a.m. May 6 at Shady Grove Assembly of God, 1189 Shady Grove Road, Baker.
Golden was a member of the premiere Oak Ridge Boys group for 17 years. He won an International Country Gospel Music Association Crossover Artist of the Year award in 2016.
The church will collect a love offering during the free event.

BREAD OF LIFE OUTREACH MINISTRY: Sign up and a brief minstry and prayers at 11 a.m. and box pick-up is 3 p.m.11 a.m. Fridays, Kingdom Life Worship and Training Center, 798 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Crestview. The church distributes boxes of once a month per person.
CELEBRATE RECOVERY: 7-8:30 p.m. Fridays, Church of New Covenant, 3191 New Ave. N., Crestview. Faith-based 12-step program for people seeking healing from things that keep them from living healthy balanced lifestyles.
