CRESTVIEW — Florida certified law enforcement officers, cadets in public safety academies and communications officers contemplating a change to the family-like work environment of a medium-sized accredited police force can learn about career opportunities with the Crestview Police Department at a Jan. 10 recruitment event.

“This is one-stop shopping,” CPD recruitment officer Sgt. Chaise Rawles said. “Just bring in your résumé and application and we’ll be glad to talk to you on the spot.”

Sgt. Rawles said unlike a typical job fair, which tend to be more informational, the fair will conduct interviews for Patrol Division and Dispatch Center communications officer positions for qualified applicants on the spot.

“If you’re ready for the challenge of being a Crestview police officer, and if you meet our stringent requirements, we’re ready to talk to you,” Sgt. Rawles said.

Depending on experience, patrol officer position salaries range from $35,975.68 to $38,163.84, and dispatcher salaries range from $28,600 to $30,359. While law enforcement officer candidates must be state certified, uncertified dispatchers will undergo training to attain state certification.

Public safety academy cadets must obtain state certification if offered provisional employment. Candidates who hold certification as military police officers or are certified LEOs in states that offer reciprocity with Florida are also welcome to apply, Sgt. Rawles said.

“If you have valid law enforcement officer certification, we’ll be glad to talk to you,” he said.
