CRESTVIEW — A one-vehicle crash caused seven hours of congestion for Crestview motorists on Thursday.
A gold Cadillac SUV was traveling southbound on Ferdon Boulevard just north of Redstone Avenue when it left the roadway for an unknown reason about 8:30 a.m., according to Major Andrew Schneider with the Crestview Police Department.
The car struck a telephone pole, damaging it and knocking it into the roadway.
It took crews about seven hours to replace the pole and rerun power, telephone and cable lines across the highway.
Southbound traffic was rerouted to the northbound lanes, which contributed to the congestion.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
