Rescheduled from an April deluge, the DreamWorks animated PG-rated feature tracks a family of cavemen led by patriarch Grug Crood on a journey to a safer new world when their cave is rattled by an earthquake.
Set in a fictional prehistoric Pliocene era known as the Croodaceous, the family’s journey is complicated by Grug and his wife, Ugga’s daughter Eep, who develops the hots for an evolved teenage boy named Guy. With his advanced mental skills, Guy introduces new ideas and inventions to the cave dwellers, much to Grug’s suspicion.
The film, which can't be named by title due to licensing restrictions, features the vocal talents of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman and Ryan Reynolds.
Family Movie Nights are programs of the Mayor JB Whitten’s Cultural Series and are presented through public-private partnerships by the Crestview Parks and Recreation Department.
This month’s film’s business sponsor is My Favorite Place Spa. Admission is free; popcorn and bottled water will be provided.
