Crestview homeless shelter holds fundraiser BASH

CRESTVIEW — They call it a CASH BASH — Crestview Area Shelter for the Homeless’s Benefit for Affordable Supportive Housing.

Crestview Area Shelter for the Homeless Executive Director Ann Sprague and Crestview Mayor JB Whitten, one of the shelter’s fervent supporters, pose for a photo during a January 2021 presentation. The shelter is having an auction fundraiser.

It’s coming to Crestview 6-8 p.m. June 19 at Central Baptist Church's Recreational Outreach Center — locally better known as the ROC — at 1105 S. Pearl St., Crestview.

“We have many live and silent auction items from local merchants, vendors, local artists, and supporters,” CASH Executive Director Ann Sprague said.

The event is largely organized by shelter manager Sharon Wood.

“She got this all together,” Sprague said.

Lots up for bid include a night on the town, Celebrate Dad, self-improvement products, a bedroom makeover, fun and food certificates, an outdoor chef “and a Treasure Chest of gift cards,” Sprague said.

CASH is celebrating its second year at its 120 Duggan Avenue location. Support for the organization and its work to benefit the Crestview community’s homeless population is one of Mayor JB Whitten’s favorite causes.

“This is a nonprofit that we are proud to support for all the good works they do for the less fortunate in our city,” he said.

Music will be provided by the duo Terrie and Justin, and dinner from Sonny’s Real Pit BBQ costs $10 a plate for adults and $5 for children under 12.

“Come enjoy good music, food and take home some great deals,” Sprague said. “Please help us spread the word!”
