Teens flee as Okaloosa County Sheriff's office deputies arrive at the scene.

CRESTVIEW — While many people were enjoying Fourth of July holiday festivities, first responders, like deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a stream of calls — contending with everything from disturbances and fireworks complaints to reckless vehicles and traffic crashes.

Last night, the OCSO also got called out to the shoreline on a section of Gulf Shore Drive in Destin around 11 p.m. after an estimated gathering of nearly 200 primarily juveniles congregated on the beaches.

A security guard at Inlet Reef Club requested that the crowd leave the beach. Many ran from the scene once law enforcement arrived.

Three teens were arrested on charges ranging from trespassing and resisting an officer without violence to underage possession of alcohol.
