HURLBURT FIELD — Three of Shanna McGrath’s former coworkers sat in a tiny office at Hurlburt Field on Monday, struggling to come to grips with the loss of a woman they all loved.
Before she retired from the Air Force in 2013, McGrath served in the 1st Special Operations Logistics and Readiness Squadron with Maria Gaenzle, Lydia Taboada and Sheila Zajdel.
Over the years, the women grew to be friends outside of the office.
Together they described McGrath as a woman who loved dogs, butterflies and being in the Air Force.
