York joins Crestview News Bulletin's marketing staff

CRESTVIEW — Chris York wants to help North Okaloosa County businesses expand their reach.

"My job is to grow businesses, and create marketing campaigns that are successful," said York, the Crestview  News Bulletin's new multimedia account executive.  In the coming weeks, I'll be meeting with every business in my territory (essentially east of Highway 85) and suggesting plans for them through online campaigns and creative ads in the newspaper."

The Sylva, North Carolina native and Crestview High School graduate, who started working with the News Bulletin on Oct. 19, brings 10 years' experience.

One of his most successful marketing accomplishments, he said, is the "Know Your Security Risks" campaign he created for ADT in Houston, Texas.

"This campaign achieved notoriety and visibility in a market that was saturated with other dealers that had similar products at a similar price point," York said. "So in turn we had to create something that stood out, and this campaign did just that.

"Being able to reach all over Houston, Texas was beneficial for them," he said.

York said he looks forward to showcasing the multiple print and digital solutions available to local businesses. Some of these services, he notes, have not previously been available to small businesses at prices they could afford.

As an example, York points to Facebook advertising. Many small businesses want to move into the realm, but don't have the time it takes to research smart marketing buys on the international giant.

The Crestview News Bulletin, in combination with GateHouse Media Group and Propel Marketing, can make all that research happen without the local business owner having to invest any time.

York joins an advertising team that includes long-time associates Sherrie Stanley and Diana Baker.
