A Crestview area man was taken into custody shortly after 4 p.m. in connection with a domestic violence-related incident at his home on Barnes Road.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies say 72-year old Thomas Davis Sr. battered his wife earlier today, then fired a shotgun at her and two others as they fled the scene.

His wife was struck by a pellet in the neck and is undergoing treatment at NorthOkaloosaMedicalCenter. Another woman reportedly suffered minor injuries in the escape.

Deputies were initially told Davis fled into the woods. Another witness thought he was still inside the house. Deputies set up a perimeter and began an area search while they kept an eye on the house.

Movement was spotted in a window and Davis ultimately surrendered to verbal commands to come out.

Charges are pending.
