Laurel Hill angler wins state tournament

Junior angler Shawn Odor Jr. of Laurel Hill has won the June 22-23 Florida B.A.S.S. Nation state tournament.

Odor, 12, finished the tournament at Lake Okeechobee with a catch totaling 23.84 pounds. Odor was in second place after the tournament's first day with a catch of 11.72 pounds — four pounds off the lead.

He came back the second day with a catch weighing 12.12 pounds to claim the championship.

Odor will compete in the regional championship at Lake Eufaula, Ala., in April of 2014.
