ATV raffle benefits Crestview Police K-9 fundraiser

Crestview Motorsports owners Alan Flanagan and Craig Shaw are raffling an ATV or dirt bike to support the Crestview Police Department’s K-9s for Crestview fundraiser.

CRESTVIEW — The winner of a Crestview Motorsports raffle will not only take home a youth ATV or dirt bike; he or she also will have the satisfaction of supporting the police department’s K-9s for Crestview fundraiser.

The Williams Avenue business will donate one of the winner’s choice — of three different-sized ATVs or a dirt bike — toward helping the Crestview Police Department.

The prize’s average retail value is almost $1,000, though their shop sells them at a discount, Motorsports owners Alan Flanagan and Craig Shaw said.

“We want to support our local police,” Shaw said. “They’re always there when we need them. We should be there when they need us.”

Flanagan said since his wife, Amber, was recently commissioned as a Crestview Police officer, he appreciates even more the necessity of giving local police the tools they need to do their jobs.

Those, the men said, include two $15,000 German shepherds the police department is raising funds to acquire from a breeder in Alabama. The cost also covers training the dogs and their handlers.

Supporters can view the ATVs and dirt bike and buy raffle tickets at Crestview Motorsports, behind O’Reilly Auto Parts off South Ferdon Boulevard.
