CRESTVIEW — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a second reported church burglary in north Okaloosa County.
Deputies were called to First Methodist Church of Baker on State Road 189 after a church member arriving at the church yesterday discovered a window unit air conditioner hanging outside an opened window.
Inside, they found evidence of forced entry into the church office. A lock box had been taken, but church officials say it did not contain money.
The OCSO is also investigating a church burglary reported Jan. 20 at Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church in Baker. During that break-in, the thief or thieves damaged the church and stole money.
Anyone with information on the church burglaries can contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, 850-689-5705, or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers, 850-863-TIPS.
