CRESTVIEW — Time is running out to participate in the second annual Crestview Lady Bulldogs Golf Challenge.
The four-person scramble is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Aug. 9 at Blackstone Golf Course in Mossy Head. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m.
Tournament proceeds will help offset expenses of the Crestview volleyball and girls basketball teams, according to Kathy Combest, who coaches both teams.
Hole sponsorships are available and donations for raffle items and prizes are still being sought.
"We would like to raise about $3,000 for each program," Combest said. “We have to pay for travel and (the cost of) officials kill us. They are pretty cheap, but still, Crestview has three teams so we pay officials for three games every time we step on the court.”
The school also is looking for sponsors to purchase banners for the gym. The banners will stay up from Aug. 15 this year until Aug. 15, 2015, Combest said.
