CRESTVIEW — A 56-year-old man accused of injuring a woman’s eye has an Aug. 19 court date.
Police were called about an argument on July 22, according to the arrest report. The victim told officers that she and Dennis Lee Kelley were arguing; the fight turned physical, but he had initiated it, the report said. Officers noted that her eye was swollen, red and the eyeball was barely visible.
The victim told officers that Kelley had hit her, according to the report. Kelley confirmed that the two had a fight, but said the victim initiated physical contact.
Kelley said she had injured her eye when he tried to pick her up, the report said. He told officers the woman had fallen out of his arms and hit the bedpost.
Kelley is charged with battery – touching or striking.
