CRESTVIEW — Sharing and Caring can provide 600 more canned food items for needy residents, and Children in Crisis has a $300 boost with Walker Elementary School's help.
The Student Council recently conducted a food drive for Sharing and Caring and collected dollar donations for The Children’s Neighborhood.
The slogan “One Can, One Dollar” stressed that helping just a little can go a long way, an event spokesperson said.
Each student council member spoke with two assigned classrooms and encouraged all Walker students to make contributions.
Children in Crisis operates The CIC Neighborhood, which provides emergency shelter for children removed from an unsafe environment on short notice. The nonprofit also offers housing to help with foster home shortage.
