Police: Man accused of committing Crestview burglaries turns himself in

Michael Alan Ladson

CRESTVIEW — Michael Alan Ladson, 32, turned himself in and is in jail after the Crestview Police Department launched a social media effort to identify the suspect in two burglaries.

Ladson is charged with:

•Burglary to a structure, The Prescription Shoppe — criminal mischief under $1,000 in damage.

•Burglary to a structure, Hot Kim Chi — criminal mischief under $200 in damage.

Ladson — who reportedly turned himself into the Crestview Police Department earlier this morning — was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail without incident.

The CPD used social media to identify someone whose photograph was captured while committing a burglary.

Ladson told investigators that he had received several calls from friends and family telling him he needed to turn himself in because his face was seen on Facebook and the CPD's website, according to a news release.

Ladson confessed to committing the burglaries he was suspected in and another burglary that had not yet been reported, according to police.
