Crestview sexual predator gets life sentence

CRESTVIEW — Justin Ashley Champion, a sexual predator, faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole, William Eddins, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit, announced.

A jury tried him on charges of sexual battery on a child under the age of 12. The charges arose in 2013 after the victim came forward and reported that the defendant had been sexually abusing her since 2009, whenever the victim was in the defendant’s Crestview home.

Circuit Judge Michael Flowers presided over the trial and, upon the jury verdict, proceeded to sentencing. Flowers classified Champion as a sexual predator.
