Laurel Hill comeback falls short

LAUREL HILL  — A furious fourth quarter comeback by Laurel Hill School’s girls basketball team came up short Thursday’s District 1-1A game with Central.

After scoring just 13 points in the first three quarters, and only three in the third quarter, the Hoboes exploded for 34 points in the final period. But it wasn’t enough as the Jaguars won 54-47.

Kaylyn McLaney scored all nine of her points during the Laurel Hill rally. Bridget Zessin, who finished the game with 10 points, scored eight in the fourth quarter.

Grace Reese led Laurel Hill in scoring with 12 points.
