Crestview Chamber's October recap

Scott Helt, from Elite Electrical, introduces himself as a Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce member during the October breakfast meeting. [Special to the News Bulletin]

Editor's Note: The Crestview News Bulletin is now pleased to offer a monthly page devoted to Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce news.

Though the Focus' first edition was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, the page (a spinoff of the chamber's former monthly newsletter with the same name) is set to run in each month's last Weekend Edition. Businesses can call 682-6524 to learn how to help sponsor the page.

If you are looking for a place to network and be seen, look no further than the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce!

We wrapped up September with our Annual Hackers Holiday Golf Tournament, which was a great success!  Mark Clark from Okaloosa Gas was the chair of this year’s event and he (along with all of our wonderful volunteers) made sure that a good time was had by all who attended and played. Thank you to Blackstone Golf Course for hosting us, and thank you to all of our sponsors!

Then, to kick off a new month, we had our Networking Breakfast at the Crestview Community Center. October’s breakfast was sponsored by CCB Community Bank.

If you have never attended one of our breakfasts, we highly encourage it! A $5 entry fee will give you access to approximately 150 community and business leaders from our area. You can network, give away a door prize, possibly become our business spotlight, and maybe even win some cash!

And, of course, there’s the food, which Uncle Bill’s prepares with eggs, bacon, hash browns and all of your breakfast favorites.

Bring your business cards and your appetite to our November breakfast meeting, which will be on Nov. 2 and is sponsored by Rocky Bayou Christian School. The Community Center doors will open at 7 a.m. and the program starts at 7:30 a.m.

If you’re not a morning person, you can join us for all kinds of free networking events that are happening all month long!

One of our favorites is the Business After Hours, which was hosted by Yvonne Shanklin at Edward Jones in October. She had an Oktoberfest-themed event that even included some traditional food and beer tasting. We hold these free networking events on the second Thursday of each month. Check out the calendar on our website, www.crestviewchamber.com, for the next location — it changes each month!

Our vision is to make the Crestview area community a great place to live, work and do business and we would love to have your support! Please consider joining us for any of our events or meetings throughout the month, or by becoming a member!

We would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions you might have about the great things we’re doing. Contact us at 682-3212 or info@crestviewchamber.com.

We look forward to hearing from you!
