Quinta Villa shooter in custody, victim in critical condition

Terry Lopez Boldridge

CRESTVIEW — A Crestview man is in critical condition after being shot several times by a local resident during a confrontation Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Oct. 25, the Crestview Police Department received a call saying shots had been fired outside of the Quinta Villa Apartments, 125 First Ave. W. Witnesses told police officers the alleged shooter was Terry L. Boldridge, 51.

Witnesses said Boldridge shot Antonio Wesley Robinson Jr., 30, who fled the scene in his sedan, striking a traffic sign as he headed north on Mapoles Street. He came to a halt at North Avenue, where police found him and rendered first aid. Robinson was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

Boldridge was detained at the scene of the shooting. However, conflicting descriptions by different witnesses led officers to suspect a second shooter might have been involved and may have been in an apartment at Quinta Villa.

As a precaution for both resident and officer safety, the complex was cordoned off and First Avenue was blocked in front of Quinta Villa. The Crestview Police SWAT team was deployed and provided security outside the apartment while a warrant was obtained to search the residence.

K-9 Officer Sonic preceded the police officers into the unit. When no other suspect was found, the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division began its investigation of the scene.

According to his heavily redacted arrest report, Boldridge shot into Robinson's car, striking him several times.

Witnesses he went inside an apartment and came out a second time, yelling profanities and "I'm going to get you" as he fired shots at Robinson's retreating vehicle.

Boldridge had just gotten out of jail and was on probation at the time, the report said. Boldridge was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (firearm); shooting into an occupied vehicle; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The incident remains under investigation.
