CRESTVIEW — A fundraiser will benefit Bob Sikes Elementary School.

The event is 5-7 p.m. Nov. 2 at McDonald's, 1300 Ferdon Blvd. N, Crestview. A percentage of all drive-through and lobby sales will go to the school safety patrol program.

A school resource officer said, "The Safety Patrol students work for a short period of time in the morning making, sure students are getting to their classes and being safe at all drop-off and entrance points of the school. We also have monthly meetings to go over character building exercises and have lunch at least once a month to get to know the students better and build positive relationships with them.

"We are working on raising funds to attend an educational field trip to Orlando during spring break, a trip that some of these students may not have an opportunity to attend with their families and will be a great first experience for them.

"We have multiple fundraisers in place and this would help us reach our goal much quicker," the officer said.
