Public relations group elects 2017 officers

CRESTVIEW — The Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization has new officers for the 2017 membership year.

Scarlett Bauman was elected president, Monica Herrera was elected vice president of membership, Danna Franks was elected treasurer and Gayle Vann was elected secretary.

Committee chairs for the upcoming year include Crestview resident Kathy Morrow, publicity and fundraising; Ashley Bailey and Donna Tashik, programs; and Ken Hair, accreditation. Jean Dutton is the club’s member at large.

ECPR Foundation officers are Past President Kathy Newby, president; Sherry Harlow, secretary; and Susan Ozbirn, treasurer.

Representatives of the Southern Public Relations Federation include Ardelle Bush, Bauman and Hair.

“ECPRO brings inspiring and educational speakers to each monthly meeting,” a media release from the organization states. “Those who join the organization can work with other public relations professionals and receive many benefits of membership, including staying current in the PR field and membership in the Southern Public Relations Federation, which has chapters in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Northwest Florida.”

The group meets 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the fourth Tuesdays of the month at Chapala’s Mexican Restaurant, 67 Eglin Parkway NE, Fort Walton Beach.

Lunch costs $15 for members, $20 for non-members and $10 for students. If you do not want to eat but want to hear the program, the cost is $10.

Guests should bring business cards for networking and can bring door prizes and a few extra dollars for business announcements.

Contact Kathy Morrow, 974-3662, or visit the ECPRO website, www.ecpro.org, for more information.
