SHALIMAR — A Baker woman accused of domestic violence faces battery charges.

Shanna Burnett, 41, of Baker, is accused of punching a 66-year-old in the face and throwing a 64-year-old to the ground, breaking her leg, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office media release.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested Burnett Oct. 27. Burnett faces charges of felony domestic battery and battery on a person 65 years of age or older.

"Witnesses say Burnett was angry over a comment made to her about employment opportunities. Burnett had left the home before deputies arrived Tuesday night, but was located at the home around two o’clock yesterday afternoon and taken to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview," the release stated.

Doctors at North Okaloosa Medical Center said the broken leg would require surgery, according to the release.
