Baker cross country students advance to regionals

BAKER — Seven Baker School cross-country students will represent their team at a regional meet Oct. 28.

The Gator girls cross-country team came in first place overall during the Oct. 22 district cross-country meet at Sims Middle School in Milton. Pensacola Christian Academy placed second with 34. Baker's boys placed fourth at the meet.

Due to their standings in the school’s top 15, these student-athletes will compete at regionals:

  • Maya Espinosa, ninth grade, who came in first place with 19:32
  • Gabriela Espinosa, seventh grade, second place, 20:34
  • Alex Hayden, 12th grade, 11th place, 24:11
  • Tressie Adams, 12th grade, 13th place, 24:45
  • Jasmin Lora, ninth grade, 15th place, 24:55
  • Greg Chiatha, 11th grade, fourth place, 19:08
  • Jezreel Roy, sixth grade, 11th place, 19:40

Gabriela Espinosa, Hayden, Adams and Lora made personal records, Baker coach Chad Lawhon said.

Regionals start at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Equestrian Center, 7750 Mobile Highway, Pensacola.
