NICEVILLE — The Dental Assisting Program at Northwest Florida State College is offering free dental X-rays in May and June as a service to the public and to provide practicum experience for NWF State College Dental Radiography students.

A written request or prescription from a dentist stating the specific X-rays needed is required. The finished X-rays are given to the requesting dentist for diagnosis and any follow-up treatment necessary.

Full mouth, bite-wing, and panoramic ones are available using digital imaging and conventional film. All patients must complete a medical history, must not have any prohibitive health condition, such as pregnancy or uncontrolled high blood pressure, and must not have had recent dental X-rays taken.

Appointments are available 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, May 18 to June 21; and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 18 to June 21. They will take place at NWFSC, 100 College Blvd., Niceville,  in the Gallimore Center for Healthcare Education, Building 420, Room 408.

Call the Dental Assisting Program office at 729-6480 to schedule an appointment. Prescriptions may be faxed to 729-6460.
