CRESTVIEW — It’s a Pepto-Bismol-pink, low-slung ragtop with custom leather and alloy wheels that turns heads.
And that’s exactly what a pink Ford Mustang cruising around town is meant to do.
Last year, Hub City Ford Vice President Chris Daggs wanted to do something for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a cause that’s near and dear to him, having lost a beloved relative to the disease.
Starting with a stock 2013 Mustang convertible, Daggs had the car repainted in Pensacola, with twin white racing stripes sweeping from grille to rear deck over the gleaming pink coachwork.
Restylers, a Fort Walton Beach vehicle after-market specialist, produced custom pink-and-white leather seats for the vehicle.
“It lights up quite a bit as well,” Hub City marketing and inventory manager Tanna Cates said. “It has a pink LED light undercarriage with a strobe light on the front and back.”
The car has been used in several breast cancer awareness events this month, including a 5-kilometer walk in Destin, the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce monthly breakfast meeting, and will be seen in today’s Crestview High School Homecoming parade, Cates said.
