‘Lunch With the Law’ at Crestview restaurant

CRESTVIEW — Residents who’ve enjoyed the Crestview Police Department’s regular “Coffee With a Cop” event — or who’ve lamented the informal morning gatherings are a bit

too early — might be happy to know about an upcoming “Lunch With the Law.”

The Crestview Citizens Police Academy Alumni organization has partnered with Hub City Smokehouse and Grill to present an Oct. 11 opportunity to enjoy a fixed-price, bargain-priced

lunch with Police Chief Tony Taylor and some of his officers at the Triple-B BBQ festival award-winning Main Street eatery.

For $7 plus tax and tip, residents can choose from a pulled pork sandwich and one side, pulled chicken sandwich and side, or a Smokehouse salad. The price includes a drink, and the

opportunity to share concerns, compliments and suggestions with Chief Taylor and his officers.

“I’m excited,” Hub City Smokehouse owner Mike Carroll said. “I’m glad we could partner with the police to offer citizens a chance to meet the chief and officers in our casual restaurant.”

Like Coffee With a Cop, Lunch With the Law provides a location away from the formality of visiting the Police Department’s Whitehurst Municipal Building headquarters for a friendly

discussion.

“Sometimes people feel a little nervous going to the police station to discuss an issue. We’re glad to offer a neutral setting, if you will, where everybody can chat over some great barbecue,” Mr. Carroll said. “We’re looking forward to this. It’ll be fun.”
